Mini Crochet Pumpkin is Perfect For Fall

Since it is the season of all things pumpkin, I thought I would whip up a quick little crochet pumpkin! I previously made a pumpkin-inspired blanket, so I thought why not make an actual pumpkin as well.

This little pumpkin even has an adorable crochet leaf which gives it an extra festive touch. Read on down to find out how to make one of these cute crochet pumpkins for yourself, but first let’s elaborate on the yarn you’ll need.

The Yarn That’s Perfect for This Easy Crochet Pumpkin

To make a crochet pumpkin, all you’ll need is some cotton yarn (I used Lily Sugar N Cream), a crochet hook, and a yarn needle to make this quick 10-minute project! Yep. It is that simple to crochet a pumpkin!

I’d suggest sticking with cotton yarn because it is so easy to wash and reuse without it losing its shape. Take a look at the yarn below, so you can make these cute Halloween or Fall Crochet Pumpkins!

Add This Pumpkin Applique to Most Anything!

The possibilities are endless with this cute pumpkin! Add it to anything you can think of for a cute touch! You can add it to a blanket, keychain, or even a canvas tote bag. I would go even a step further and add little black eyes to it to make it a Halloween appliqué too!

Skill Level: Easy

Materials

Crochet Abbreviations

  • hdc – half double crochet
  • sc – single crochet
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • ch – chain
  • st – stitch
  • dc – double crochet

Notes

  • Written in standard US terms

Small Crochet Pumpkin Pattern

Round 1: with orange ch 2, in second ch from the hook hdc 10 times, sl st to top of the first hdc. (10)

Round 2: ch 1, starting in 2nd ch from hook hdc 2 times, hdc 2 times in each st around, sl st to top of first hdc. (20) (do not fasten off orange)

Next: Join in green, ch 4, working in to the 2nd ch of the ch 4 sc, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, sl st to the top of the 2nd hdc of the previous round, fasten off.

To Finish: Picking up orange ch 1, and sc in the next st after the st you just sl st in with green, sc in the next 4 sts, sl st in the next 8 sts, sc in the next 5 sts. sl st in the next st and fasten off.

Weave in loose ends securely throughout with yarn needle.
