This Cowl Is One of My Favorite Patterns

This crochet cowl (aka scarf some may call it) was one of my favorites to design because it uses less than one skein of yarn, and it works up extremely fast, which is always a win for me!

I love fast projects and If you do too, then this is definitely the pattern for you.

The Yarn

I decided to use one of my favorite yarns  (Vanna’s Choice from Lion Brand, Amazon) because of the wide variety of colors available and the durability of the yarn! It really holds up well.

I have made countless blankets, hats, and scarves with this yarn and they still look great!

Vanna’s Choice

This yarn is made by Lion Brand, and is a Weight 4 – Medium yarn.

After maybe a half hour of starting at my yarn stash, I chose the color Barley for this cowl, which is the perfect color to go with almost any outfit because it has a great neutral tone to it.

  1. I’m very new to crochet, so I apologize if these are stupid questions, but…
    (1) In Round 4, if you put a dc + hdc in each of the 60 dc in Round 3, doesn’t that double the number of stitches from 60 to 120?
    (2) In round 9, are you putting the dc in the dc or hdc stitch of Round 8, or in both?
    Thank you for the clarification.

      1. Oh, that makes so much more sense now. Thank you very much for the explanation. I’ve been enjoying your web site and I love your rescue cause. It’s near and dear to my heart, too.
