COLORBLOCKED Ripple BLANKETS ARE FUN
I am a huge fan of color block blankets and this one is no exception. This easy crochet ripple blanket is worked up with all different shades of blue yarn which gives it a unique fading ombre effect. The ripple stitch used for this crochet design is simple and works up fast once the first few rows are done.
THE YARN That’s Perfect for a Ripple Blanket
It all started a few weeks ago while yarn shopping at Michaels that I came across some beautiful colors from Lion Brands Vanna’s Choice line in some awesome blue & gray hues! I originally went in to grab one skein for another project, but walked out with 7! The proof is in the picture! (See below)
No resisting these Yarn colors!
I mean are they not just amazing! I knew they would look perfect as a ripple blanket with an ombre effect to it. (Ombre means “the gradual blending of one color hue to another, usually moving from light to dark.”)
You may like this crocheted blanket too..
If you like this one then you may also like my Color Blocked Simple Blanket Pattern that uses ONLY single crochets! (super super easy!) But, back to the ripple design… this crochet pattern (free of course!) is one of my favorite all time designs and I am so happy to share this fun easy ripple crochet blanket pattern with you!
HOW The Ripple Stitch in Crochet is MADE
I started my blanket with white working 15 rows and decreased the number of rows I made with each color added. Also the whole blanket is worked in half double crochet which makes it a super quick pattern to work up. Overall I really am in love with how it turned out and I hope you love it too! <3
