For a while I’ve been wanting to design another headband like my Chained Ear Warmer but with some more texture so it makes me so happy to be able to share my newest crochet headband pattern! I chose to use the Lion Brand Yarns WoolSpun Line for this headband because the colors in this yarn line are gorgeous and definitely one of the softest yarns that you can buy.
Change The Size Easily!
To start my headband I started off by chaining 40 but you could chain more or less depending on the size that is needed. For the majority of this pattern I used a modified puff stitch mixed with single crochets to make a simple but textured design.
Easy to Work up!
These headbands are really easy to work up, but have the look to them that you spent way longer making them! I have already made 3 of them and I promise these ear warmers are really that quick to make!

Cozy Crochet Headband Pattern
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
- Crochet hook size J
- 40 yards of Lions brand WoolSpun in Linen or any bulky yarn (5)
- Yarn needle
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
St = stitch
- Written for an adult (fits a 20-22″ circumference when finished) and has a 4″ height, but can easily be customized for any size by subtracting or adding stitches in an even number.
- 1 inch for every 1 modified puff stitch & 1 SC
- The CH 1 of each round does not count as a st.
- The SL ST does not count as a st.

The Pattern Steps
Round 1: CH 40, join together to make a circle being careful not to twist.
Round 2: CH 1, SC in 2nd CH from hook, * (modified puff stitch – Find tutorial “here”) YO insert hook into next CH, pull loop through CH, and make loop the same height as previous CH, (YO, insert hook in same CH, YO, pull loop through CH and make loop same height as others), YO, pull through all 5 loops on hook, in next CH SC, Repeat from * across ending with modified puff stitch in last CH, SL ST to top if first SC. (40)
Round 3: CH 1, SC in every ST around, SL ST to top of first SC. (40)
Round 4: CH 1, SC in first ST, * (modified puff stitch) YO, insert hook into next ST pull loop through ST, and make loop the same height as previous ST, (YO, insert hook in same ST, YO, pull loop through ST and make loop same height as others), YO, pull through all 5 loops on hook, in next ST SC, Repeat from * across ending with modified puff stitch in last ST, SL ST to top if first SC. (40)
Round 5: Repeat round 3. (40)
Round 6: Repeat round 4. (40)
Round 7: Repeat round 3. (40)
Round 8: Repeat round 4. (40)
Round 9: Repeat round 3. (40)
Round 10: Repeat round 4. (40)
Finishing: Fasten off and weave in ends throughout headband with yarn needle.
