Easy Headband Crochet Pattern

This cozy crochet headband pattern is easy to work up and is great for a beginner who is just learning how to crochet because it uses basic crochet stitches. Plus, the bulky 5 yarn makes it warm enough for those chilly winter days ahead!

These headbands are easy to work up, but have the look to them that you spent way longer making them!  I have already made three of them and I promise these ear warmers are really that quick to make! If you’d like to make one, you can learn more about each stitch below.

Next, I want to discuss the yarn you’ll want to use to make this chunky headband. You will fall in love with it and realize how quick these headbands are to crochet with this yarn.

The Yarn

For this headband, I used a bulky #5 weight yarn from the Lion Brand Yarns Wool Spun Line because the colors in this yarn are gorgeous and definitely one of the softest yarns that you can buy.

Unfortunately, as of 2020, Wool spun is no longer available, but I recommend substituting Color Made Easy Yarn by Lion brand. It has a texture that is VERY similar to Wool Spun.

How to Change the Headband Size

You can change the size of this headband by subtracting or adding stitches in an even number.

To start, the headband size shown I started off by chaining 40, but you could chain more or less depending on the size that is needed.
